I’ve made a lot of websites for other people. But you know how “the cobbler’s kids don’t have shoes,” and “the carpenter’s roof always leaks?”
I’m embarrassed to say it, but it’s ridiculously hard to make my own professional website. I have a different one, which I’ve had for almost 10 years. It’s a personal blog that I’ve tried at times to mix with my professional online presence, to varying degrees of success. As I do more professional work outside of my day job and grow my entrepreneurial business, I know I need a separate business website. So I’ve started this one. It’s a work in progress as I figure out my main business message and offering.
Thus, I’m headed to a conference in February called, “Message to Money Live,” intended to help me clarify that. My hope is that, like when I start a new painting and feel a little overwhelmed by the blank canvas, I will start working and figure out what to do. As my favorite quote goes,
“Clarity comes with action.”
