Intro
My name is Evelyn Helminen. I am a creative professional with over a decade of experience in writing, marketing and graphic design.
I have managed several large websites and social media accounts, and I am also a talented graphic designer with significant experience with the Adobe Creative Suite.
Additionally, I am a skilled tech trainer and have taught individuals in hundreds of 1:1 appointments and led workshops of up to 200 people on topics such as Online Presence, Photoshop, LinkedIn, Blogging, Graphic Design, and more.
Idealliance
Idealliance is a global non-profit association that serves the print and packaging industry. It is a member of the larger PRINTING United Alliance. As Director of Media, Marketing, and Communications, I wear all the hats in order to effectively promote our business and drive sales. I manage the website, edit and send out global press releases, manage the email marketing and social media platforms, design graphics for online promotions, print ads, and social media posts, and—most importantly—create and follow a comprehensive digital marketing strategy based on analytics from all digital channels.

In my previous position, I worked at the largest conventional and organic leafy greens grower and processor in the world, managing the WordPress-based website and digital marketing content for the Earthbound Farm Organic brand label, which included compiling enewsletters, writing blog posts, updating the website, creating interactive digital content, and managing the social media community.

Before that, I worked at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, a professional graduate school, where I managed the Institute's Drupal website and social media; designed websites for internal purposes; taught faculty, staff, and students how to make their own websites and e-portfolios (mainly in WordPress); and led many trainings on Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, as well as various online tools for education, design, and marketing.

In addition, I've written newsletter articles, technical tutorials, short stories, and entire e-books, I've been published in "Life In Pacific Grove, Volume I," I'm a 9-time winner of National Novel Writing Month, and I am currently working on a novel.

I am an artistic entrepreneur.
Tudo Azul Custom Woodworking
The artistic and entrepreneurial gene runs in my family. My boyfriend and I have a side business of making custom cutting boards, butcher blocks, serving trays, and other wooden items for the kitchen and home. I customize everything with a mix of hand-drawn pyrography, laser engraving, and CNC routing.
